Muscle & Fitness Happy Hour: A Better Brew? July 2006 The cats out of the bag: Alcohol (at least in moderation) is actually good for you. And now the brewers at Stampede (stampedebeer.com) say they have a beer that tops the rest. Stampede Light is the first vitamin-enhanced beer to win government approval. Geared towards the active, healthy type, Stampede Light adds an assortment of B vitamins such as folate and vitamin B6 to help counteract the depletion of these vitamins and the hangover that happens after a few too many cold ones. While these add-ons certainly can’t hurt, keep in mind that the thundering pain you feel after a night out with the boys mostly results from inflammation, according to new research. Not to mention that drinking too much of any beer can do serious harm to your six-pack. It remains to be seen if Stampede Light is based on solid science or a strange brew.
